Anna Derrick

Anna Derrick is an educator with a Master's degree in Urban Education from Union University and a bachelor's degree in education from the University of Memphis, where she also completed a minor in nonprofit management. Her academic background reflects a deep commitment to equity, community-centered systems, and public service.
While living in Memphis, Anna planned events and managed communications, gaining hands-on experience in community engagement, promotion, and organizational coordination. She later served as Deputy Campaign Manager for Aftyn Behn's congressional campaign in Tennessee's 7th District, helping lead strategy, operations, and grassroots execution in a highly competitive race. Anna is also an active member and former Vice Chair of the Dickson County Democratic Party, where she has played a hands-on role in local organizing, party leadership, and voter engagement.
Outside of work, Anna enjoys reading, cooking, and spending time with her dog, Scout, and her cat, Penelope. She brings a collaborative, values-driven approach to both education and political work, grounded in the belief that strong communities are built through informed leadership, civic participation, and collective action.
